Solange Cesarovna and Juca Novaes elected Vice Presidents of CIAM

The CIAM Executive Committee has elected elected Solange Cesarovna (Cabo Verde, SCM) and Juca Novaes (Brazil, Abramus) as Vice Presidents during the ExCo meeting in Paris on February 5th and 6th. The Vice Presidents will assist CIAM President Arriën Molema with preparing meetings and strategy sessions as well as contributing their expertise to support CIAM.

Upon their election, CIAM President Arriën Molema said:

"I’m very glad with the election of Solange and Juca as Vice Presidents of CIAM. The Africa and Latin America regions have seen significant growth and influence in music in recent years, and having Vice Presidents from two such important regions shows the diversity of CIAM and co-aligns with our mission to support creators worldwide. With their connections and expertise, we can truly be the global voice of music creators."

Cabo Verde singer-songwriter and African Music Academy representative Solange Cesarovna said:

"I am deeply honored and humbled to be elected Vice-President of the International Council of Music Creators (CIAM), becoming the first African to hold this prestigious position. This achievement is not just a personal honor but a significant step forward for all African music creators, ensuring our voices and musical rights resonate more powerfully on the global stage.


I am thrilled to collaborate with our distinguished President, Arriën Molema, acclaimed musician and composer from the Netherlands, renowned for his exemplary and unwavering commitment to defending creators’ rights! Together, with the all distinguished EXCO team, we will work to champion the rights, dignity, and aspirations of music creators worldwide."

Brazilian composer, songwriter, and ALCAM representative Juca Novaes said:

"In these complex times of AI and streaming, CIAM is essential to defending creators around the world. It will be an honor to bring a Latin American perspective to this important fight."
