ALCAM Participates in CISAC Latin American and Caribbean Committee Meeting in Costa Rica
The Latin American Alliance of Music Composers (ALCAM) actively participated this week in the meeting of the Latin American and Caribbean Committee of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), held in San José, Costa Rica.
During the event, ALCAM representatives held meetings with authors' societies from across the continent, as well as with musicians and creators from Costa Rica. This provided an opportunity to present and discuss new initiatives, including the first ALCAM Songwriting Camp, which will take place in Uruguay in November 2025. The initiative is focused on training, artistic exchange, and developing collective strategies among committee members with the goal of strengthening Latin America's music ecosystem.
The agenda included participation from ALCAM's board of directors, CIAM President Arriën Molema, representatives from authors' societies across the region, and local composers. In addition to the countries already part of the Alliance, the meetings also welcomed delegations from Jamaica, Barbados, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, and El Salvador.
ALCAM’s involvement in this event reaffirms its commitment to regional integration, the defense of authors’ rights, and the recognition of Latin American music creativity.
