Explore NFTs and Artificial Intelligence in Music at Online CIAM Forum on April 7
On April 7th, the International Council of Music Creators invites creators, professionals, and policymakers for a free online CIAM Forum on NFTs and Artificial Intelligence. The event begins at 14h CET/7am Central US.
NFTs have dominated headlines spanning creative industries. Their increasing presence has launched both debate as well as concerns over their impact both financially as well as in terms of rights ownership. Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence is integrating itself as a potential tool in creation. However, who owns the copyright and subsequent royalties? Can artificial intelligence be considered an author-a space that has only been designated to human beings?
Daniel Gervais, Milton R. Underwood Chair in Law and Director of the Vanderbilt University Intellectual Property Program, will be the keynote speaker for a special CIAM Forum on NFTs and Artificial Intelligence this April 7th.
Professor Gervais specialises in intellectual property law and artificial intelligence law. His experience spans ten years as a legal officer for the World Trade Organization, the head of the World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Project section, CISAC Deputy Secretary General, and Vice-Chair for the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations. He has served as a consultant for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
A Q&A and open discussion will follow the keynote.
