CIAM to gather in Seoul for special ExCo and CISAC General Assembly
Music creators and guests from around the world will gather in Seoul, Korea for an exceptional week of meetings, discussions, and panels treating key current and pressing issues concerning the sector. The International Council of Music Creators (CIAM) will join, hosting a special CIAM Executive Committee meeting around the May 30th CISAC General Assembly, hosted by KOMCA. The CISAC General Assembly is the major annual global meeting of authors’ rights societies.
Prior to the General Assembly, CIAM’s president will participate in the CISAC Board Meeting representing CIAM, the unified global voice of music creators. CIAM Exco members will join the Asia-Pacific Music Creators Alliance’s (APMA) Executive Committee meeting.
CIAM will be holding a two-day Executive Committee meeting on May 31st and June 1st. 60-70 people are anticipated to join the meeting, notably Chairs and CEOs of collective management societies from across the globe. This unique ExCo allows the heads of authors’ societies to dialogue directly with songwriters, and composers on the most pressing issues and concerns affecting their livelihood and the music sector.
Among its priorities, CIAM is leading advances on addressing artificial intelligence and mental health of music creators.
