CIAM Holds 2015 Executive Committee Meeting in Brussels

The International Council of Music Creators held its Executive Committee meeting in Belgium this month where a packed room reviewed an extremely busy year of activity. In addition to the regular ExCo members, special guest Shunichi Tokura, a renowned composer and songwriter and Chairman of Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC) also attended the event.

In addition to update reports from all of CIAM’s global alliances, key discussion topics included the Fair Trade Music project, the EU Copyright Reform and the planned creation of a new alliance in the Asia-Pacific region.

Members gave final approval to the new CIAM bylaws and voting procedures before hearing an update on the “Creative Copyright Working Group”, the CIS-Next project and the next steps in the Fair Trade Music project.
