Lorenzo Ferrero is the honourary president of CIAM. He was born in Turin, Italy, in 1951, has studied music and philosophy, and is a composer of operas, symphonic and chamber music.

Featured in the “New Grove Dictionary of Opera” as the “the most successful opera composer of his generation in Italy”, his most performed titles are “Marilyn”, “Salvatore Giuliano”, “Charlotte Corday” and the opera for children, “The Sorcerer’s Daughter”.

He has been active as manager of art events, such as the Puccini Festival and the Arena di Verona opera festival. Since the early nineties he has served in the Italian collective management society (SIAE), first in the music grand right section, and later as board member and vice-president.
