Dear CIAM members ,
I bring to your knowledge of my candidacy for the CIAM management committee .
My name is Patrick Sigwalt, I am a film music composer and chairman of the board of directors of Sacem.
It's been 25 years since I defend creation and creators , first of all as teaching at the CNSM, the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. But also within organizations professional as the UCMF , the Union of Film Music Composers , which I have I have the honor of presiding or as vice- president of Snac (National Union of Authors and Composers ).
During my first presidency of Sacem in 2021, we have committed to major changes . Concerned about the issues related to new technologies, we have created the innovation council , amended radically the functioning of our board of directors and above all put an end to the mandate of our general management and appointed a new management team .
I wish bring my help to the comex notably regarding the issues related to innovation in order to always better defend the creative professions .
Our professions are fragile and so that they generate a economy real for future generations , we must anticipate profound technological disruptions today at work .
It is why , value sharing , the issues AI related generative and grabbing editorial remain subjects for me priority .
At the same time, we must be able to do better to know our professions in the political and media world .
This is the meaning of my candidacy today for the executive committee : Help ensure that our professions remain professions .
Today , we must act so as not to suffer .

BIO
Aer studying at the CNAM and working in London and then at Saban Records in Los Angeles, Patrick Sigwalt joined Delphine Producon in Paris, where he produced all the albums, including ‘Ocarina’, for which he received several gold and diamond discs.
He went on to collaborate on over 250 albums in France and abroad. His complicity with Bernardo Sandoval gave rise to the soundtrack for Manuel Poirier's film WESTERN, for which Sandoval was awarded the César for Best Film Music. Then, Patrick founded the Score Factory company, which enabled him to produce and sign numerous composions for film and television.
For the past 25 years, he has been a Professor at the CNSMDP (Conservatoire Naonal Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris), where he created the first film music class at this level.
His commitment to defending music led him to be elected Director of the Union des Compositeurs de Musiques de Films. He went on to become its President and then Honorary President.
He sits on a number of naonal bodies, including the AFDAS Music Commissioner for Musical Creaon Fund, Administrator for the Union Naonale des Auteurs et Compositeurs (Naonal Union of Authors and Composers) and SEAM (Society of Music Publishers and Authors).
He was also the director of SDRM (Mechanical Reproducon Rights Society) and a member of the Académie des Césars.
Elected Vice-Chairman of the Syndicat Naonal des Auteurs et des Compositeurs and Director of SACEM's Comité du cœur, he set up SACEM's Scienfic and Innovaon Council under the patronage of Jean-Michel Jarre. He was successively Commissioner, Director, Secretary General and finally Chairman of SACEM.
A fervent defender of copyright and collecve management, he launched the campaign to relocate film music recordings in France with the Orchestre Naonal d' Île de France and, aer two years of negoaons, signed the code of pracce for music publishing in the presence of the Minister of Culture.
As a strong advocate of French cultural values, he was an acve voter in 2019 for the European copyright direcve against GAFAM in the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
Alongside his various roles, he connues to compose numerous films and series soundtracks, parcularly across the Atlanc, earning him the Ascap Screen Music Award in 2020 for the original score of the No. 1 series in the United States.
That same year, he and Jean-Christophe Prudhomme wrote the music for, the most exported French series in the world (UNIFRANCE Export Award 2021).
One of France's most internaonally acclaimed composers, he is the winner of the SACEM GRAND PRIX 2022 for export repertoire. In 2023, he was elected President of the CSI, SACEM's Scienfic and Innovaon Council, and became a member of the General Assembly of the Cannes Film Fesval.
