World Creators Forum and Launch of the Asia-Pacific Music Creators Alliance
Hosted by CISAC and the China IP Law Association, the “World Creators Forum” was one of the year’s largest creativity-focused events, gathering more than 250 participants. Creators from around the world joined together with key policy-makers, academics and representatives from authors’ rights societies to discuss solutions for a sustainable creative eco-system in the new digital environment.
Panels took place with the participation of Lorenzo Ferrero (CIAM), Eddie Schwartz (CIAM/MCNA), Yun MyongSun (APMA), Simon Darlow (CIAM), Shunichi Tokura (APMA), Juca Novaes (ALCAM), Marek Hojda (CIAM), Brendan Gallagher (APMA) and distinguished colleagues, Abe Sibiya (SAMRO) representing African creators, Haku Ide (JASRAC/APMA) and Paul Williams (ASCAP).
The meeting also saw the official launch ceremony of the Asia-Pacific Music Creators Alliance (APMA) and detailed how this new regional organisation will strengthen CIAM’s foundation for lobbying on behalf of music creators around the world.
Elections included Shunichi Tokura (Japan) as Chair, Brendan Gallagher (Australia) as Vice-Chair and the Executive Committee including Irfan Aulia (Indonesia), Rico Rene Blanco (Philippines), Thanit Chernpipat (Thailand), Yun MyongSun (Korea) and Hao Weiya (China).
